The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) will hold a Public Input Hearing via telephone on January 5 at 6pm on the proposed sale of the York City Wastewater System to Pennsylvania-American Water. The goal of this hearing is to gather public input for the administrative judge to consider who will make a recommendation on the proposed sale.

Since the beginning, the York Area Regional Sewer Authority’s focus has been steadfast to deliver long-term fair rates. One example of the potential impact was shared in a letter to York City residents from PA American which indicated sewer bills could increase by as much as 47.5% per month. Please know, we will continue to do everything in our power to act in the best interest of our ratepayers who are impacted by this sale and encourage all community members to have their voices heard at the January 5 public hearing.
