A Message from the Fire Chief

York Area United Fire and Rescue would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued support and commitment in creating a fire safe environment for Spring Garden, Springettsbury and Manchester Townships.
We are extremely proud of the service we provide to the citizens and strive to ensure that we are consistently putting the needs of the citizens at the top of our priority list. Whether it is Emergency Response, Public Education, Emergency Management or Fire Prevention and Codes Issues, we strive to be a responsive and customer service oriented part of the community.
Cooperation from residents and businesses alike are essential parts of a fire safe community and our goal is to continue forging those relationships that we all benefit from. We encourage everyone to provide feedback and feel free to ask questions about how the fire department can meet your fire safety needs.
In closing, thank you for your continued support and we welcome your comments, concerns or suggestions.

In 2016 Spring Garden Township, along with Manchester and Springettsbury township recognized YAUFR as the Emergency Management Agency for the three municipality region. As such YAUFR EMA is establishing a singular emergency operations center for the region as well as back up site. Battalion Chief Joe Madzelan was selected as the Regional Emergency Management Coordinator for YAUFR EMA, with support from the rest of the command staff to fill critical roles. We are actively seeking additional EMA staffing support from volunteers within the community.
