A Message from the Police Chief

I hope this finds everyone well and enjoying the summer weather. On behalf of our officers and staff, I wish to express our appreciation for your continued support and commitment to making Spring Garden Township a great place to live, work and play.

We recognize that reducing crime cannot be accomplished without the cooperation between our officers and the community. If you wish to obtain crime prevention materials, schedule a program on safety, or if you have information on any crime please call the police department. If you are looking for an exciting career in law enforcement, I invite you to explore job opportunities through the Metropolitan York Police Testing Consortium at www.yorkpolicejobs.org or call (717) 843-0851.

In closing, thank you for your continued support and we welcome your comments, concerns or suggestions.

George J. Swartz, Jr.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Spring Garden Township Police Department is to enhance the quality of life of all people by working in partnership with the community to protect life and property through the delivery of professional law enforcement services while maintaining the highest level of integrity and assuring individual constitutional rights.

Community Survey

Spring Garden Township is committed to ensuring that the services we provide to the community are efficient, effective and delivered in a professional manner. Towards that goal, the police department has solicited the assistance of the Institute of Applied Social Research, York College of Pennsylvania, in developing and disseminating a survey to our residents. The information collected will assist us in better understanding community concerns and in providing  the best possible law enforcement services. The survey is expected to be mailed to some of our residents during the month of March. If you do receive the survey, we would ask your assistance by  completing this survey and mailing it back in the envelope provided. Your comments are important to us. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

York County Crime Stoppers Underage Drinking Hotline

In an effort to reduce the underage drinking problem, York County Crime Stoppers started an underage drinking hotline. Through this phone number, youth can call in to report underage drinking parties. The callers remain completely anonymous and are even eligible to receive a cash reward if the information is found to be credible. It is our belief that one caller with one tip can prevent the loss of a life.

The number is 755-TIPS (8477). (Information from York County Crime Stoppers Brochure)
